Anger management treatment, provided by Cliff Koblin in New Jersey, involves one-on-one counseling for individuals who experience episodes of anger that are disturbing because of their frequency, intensity, duration, or other characteristics and are considered unhealthy for the individual or those with whom he or she interacts.
Reasons to Participate:
Anger is a normal emotion and everyone feels angry sometimes – to a degree. However, recurring anger, incidents of rage, and even silent hostilities are not healthy states for the mind and body. Individuals may deny their problematic anger because it is easy to blame “the cause” on other people, specific incidents, or sustained issues. Friends, family, schoolmates or co-workers, who bear the brunt, may often be first to recognize that a problem exists. Fortunately, people can learn to recognize their anger and its consequences. They can improve their health as well as their relationships by mastering anger management techniques.
Evaluation and Treatment for Anger Management:
As with any therapeutic process, the causes and symptoms of anger must be assessed and diagnosed. Following this, the client will be offered a number of tools that teach new ways to perceive and respond to triggers. These tools may include:
- Appropriate assertive responses
- Communication and problem solving skills
- Physical relaxation techniques
- Meditation exercises
- Disputing irrational thoughts with positives
- Dealing with deeper feelings and belief systems
- Forgiveness
